What To Do And Where To Party In Playacar - Riviera Maya (Cancun)

So where's the party at?

During the day it's hot sun and hot sand, but at night it's the Cancun/Playa Nightlife that's hot, with some of these Cancun Clubs well known all over the world. So while your all inclusive resort in Riviera Maya / Cancun may offer live music, and freebie drinks, you will miss out on the main action if you do not get out and visit 1 or 2 or these clubs, to check out the Cancun/Playa nightlife.

Some of my favorite spots are:

Coco Bongo

Coco Bongo in Riviera Maya! Now here's a nightclub worth visiting (great for a bachelor / bachlorette party).  Keep in mind, this is not the place to wear your best nightlife outfits (save that for Mandala!) - you will come out a bit "dirty" =). The Coco Bongo in Cancun is larger (you can almost fit the one in Playa inside Cancun's) but Playa is much closer. Most of the shows in this video you will see though they do change up a few every so often. The best seats are second level VIP and second level standing across from the stage. For dancing then the main floor- easy access to the car should anyone in your party want to dance on it (perfectly acceptable here!!! LOL).
www.cocobongo.com.mx (in Cancun and Riviera Maya)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeBPGjT0Hqo&feature=related

In Riviera Maya
*Dubai - (used to be Bali Clubs – changed hands a few times so I don’t really know – was fun when I went)

*Retro

*Coco Maya Beach Club

*Root n’ Fire (reggae spot- pretty cool)

*Santa Nera

*Deseo Lounge and Bar (at the Deseo hotel- cool lounge beds, pricey drinks so it's more for the experience- another hop place)

*Om Bar (cute hotel bar/lounge near the beach in Playa- pretty cool to stop in while hopping-can get really fun after 1AM)

*Mandala   (super sexy lounge/club)

In Cancun

*The City (this place is HUGE!!!!)

*Basic (over the water nightclub with a rotating dance floor- also offers foam parties…. Yeah…..)

*Bulldog

*Daddy O & Daddy Rock  (rotating dance floor + drinks = A really amusing time)

*Senor Frogs  (how can you not?)

*Mandala (super sexy lounge/club)

* The Party Hopper -The Party Hopper Tour in Cancun is a superb way to experience the best in Cancun nightlife. Visit three of the best Cancun bars & clubs in one night and all you can drink for 7 hours. Escorted by your English speaking guides, who fetch your drinks and ensure your safety, the Cancun Party Hopper is not only great fun but excellent value for money.

What to do in Cancun / Riviera Maya:

Chichen Itza -An extraordinary visit to one of the most impressive archaeological discoveries in the world! Marvel at the construction of these massive structures designed by Mayan architects without modern day technology; test the acoustical magic in the largest Ball Court in the Americas and walk the same paths as the Mayan priests did to offer sacrifices to their gods at the Sacred Well. Experience one of the richest ancient cultures in the world. http://en.xcaretexperiencias.com/xpedition.php

Tulum -The only walled city built by the Mayans along Caribbean. This ancient fortress atop a cliff overlooking the coast was so formidable in its day that the Spanish by-passed the area on their way to conquering the Peninsula. The views are spectacular, and the site offers a unique look back in time. Several structures still have original paintings on the walls.

Xel-Ha - Enjoy the extraordinary network of natural pools and waterways, walking paths and tropical forest. Jump into an incredible "natural aquarium" where you can snorkel in calm waters. Grab a float for a lazy ride in gentle currents, or grab a hammock, lay back and relax with the realization that you are NOT dreaming!! http://en.xcaretexperiencias.com/xelha.php?camid=

(Note: you can usually do Tulum and Xel-Ha together in the same day)

Dolphin Encounter & Royal Garrafon Tour -Whilst enjoying a fabulous All Inclusive day with the Royal Garrafon tour to Isla Mujeres, discover the dolphinsォ best kept secrets in a safe and fun-filled environment.ハYou will be surprised by the intelligence and friendliness of these wonderful mammals and will have the opportunity to hug, kiss & be kissed on the cheek and enjoy watching your new friends perform a series of amazing tricks.

Xcarert -Natures Sacred Paradise! Once an ancient Mayan seaport, this eco-archaeological park is designed to keep you busy all day. Swim gently through underground rivers; relax in crystal clear lagoons; observe exotic tropical birds, jungle cats and spider monkeys in natural habitats; snorkel in protected inlets or take a siesta in a hammock under swaying palm trees. You will love the impressive coral reef aquarium with interesting explanations about the local marine life and how the park is helping to protect endangered sea turtles. There is also a butterfly pavilion, special performances in various spots of the park throughout the day and archaeological ruins that remind you that you are walking in footsteps of a centuries old culture. Stay for the evening and take a step back in time with a magical show in a spectacular amphitheater. http://en.xcaretexperiencias.com/xcaret.php

Caribbean Carnival -This is your chance to party the Mexican way!!! You’ll jump right into an energetic atmosphere meeting fellow partiers, enjoying the open bar and dancing on the upper deck as you cross the bay to Isla Mujeres aboard one of our comfortable catamaran cruisers. Once on the Island you’ll feast on an all you can eat buffet. http://www.caribbeancarnaval.com/

Jungle Tour -Have fun and get wet by driving your own speedboat on a guided tour across the open waters and through the mangrove channels of Nichupte Lagoon. These little speedsters give you a thrill as you follow your guide with surprising speed! Hold onto our hats!!!

Xplore - A fascinating underground world hidden for millenniums below the surface of the Yucatan Peninsula, beckons visitors to rediscover emotions energized by incredible natural phenomenons most people have never had an opportunity to experience. http://en.xcaretexperiencias.com/xplor.php?camid=

Of course if you would like to pre-reserve any excursion we can book it for you and add it to your all inclusive resort package, but for nightlife I would suggest you do that through the hotel (activities staff) or once you are there.
