Spotlight on Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort, Costa Rica ~ Agent Trip Review

We took a direct Continental flight round trip from Newark to San Jose and used a family-owned private transportation company, Arenal Destination, to take us around the country. This was the third time we used Arenal Destination and we highly recommend them. They are friendly, courteous and have reasonable prices. The driver stops along the way if you would like to take pictures or take a peek at the huge crocodiles at the Rio Tarcoles River! You can contact Natalia and Fabio at www.arenaldestination.com or info@arenaldestination.com We stayed at the Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort which is located about an hour from the San Jose airport in Playa Herradura. It is a luxury resort recognized by Travel & Leisure magazine readers as one of the "World's Best". We had no complaints at all about this resort. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was refreshing. We relaxed in the sun and drinks and snacks were brought to us poolside. Our stay was wonderful!
The Los Suenos Marina was a short walk from the resort which was perfect since my husband, Mark, is an avid fisherman. During our stay, we took two full-day deep sea fishing charters on the Fandango. The captain and mates were knowledgeable and friendly and tried their best to find fish for Mark. We were grateful to have caught some sailfish and marlin. On one of the trips we were lucky to see about 50 bottle-nosed dolphins swimming right next to our boat.
We dined mostly at the Marina which offered an array of restaurants from a casual bar and grill, The Hook Up, to a more upscale Italian restaurant, Lanterna, and lounge, The Terrace Lounge.
